There's a lot of talent to be displayed here, from its rousing overture until the evangelical "Brotherhood of Man," which brings the evening to a foot-stomping end, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" is a nonstop delight. The musical's skeptical wit and cheerfully amoral heart remain forever young.
How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying charts the story of the meteoric rise of an ambitious window washer who, with the help of a simple guidebook, gets the job, the girl, a raise and a promotion all by his second day at work . A wonderful score by Frank Loesser including great dance numbers such as, “A Secretary Is Not A Toy”, and “Coffee Break”. Join this company in climbing the ladder, song by song and dance by dance!
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is as fast, funny and glitzy as it ever was. You might almost suspect that this 1961 fable of blind business ambition had been ahead of its time. Not really.
