A one minute monologue, from a published play source, no poems, movie, TV, or self written monologues. Be sure to memorize.
Wear nice moveable clothing.
Bring dance shoes as a short dance routine may be taught during auditions.
If you are unclear about any direction/question, ask.
If you start and get lost, first few bars of song or lines. Stop, and ask if you can start over. Do not get through most of the piece and the try and start over.
Do everything in your power to make this the best audition for yourself.
Have extra dance shoes available; be prepared for any style of dance combination.
Sheet Music: Clear and clean copy. Do not have it minimized or shrunk. Have practiced with exact music you are using. Have it clearly marked where to start and stop. In most instances a music book is too heavy to stay open, so Xerox your music and have it on white paper or white card stock.
Monologues: Know and have read the play you are using your monologue from. Know the show you are auditioning for, be familiar with parts and story. You need to like the piece as this will also give you an edge should you get call backed.
What we are looking for:Every student who is considering auditioning for a production at Theatre360, must attend the mandatory pre-audition meeting for each show. These are generally held two weeks in advance of auditions held by the staff of Theatre 360 and the Director. Parents and students are invited and encouraged to attend.
