THE ACADEMY PROGRAM
In addition to our regular programming, Theatre 360 offers advanced level training for the truly dedicated, committed and ambitious student between the ages of 13 - 19. Intense curriculum, projects, and goals will be set for each student enrolled in our Academy Program. Only students who are willing and capable to take on this challenge should apply. This program begins with our Fall Session on September 8 and continues through Spring 2009. It is our wish that Theatre 360 will provide a fulfilling and memorable educational experience that can help dreams become reality.
Our major goal is to nourish the passion students feel for the arts by providing them with space, expertise, and opportunities.
Theatre 360's Academy Program will include the following components:
- An admissions process which selects for commitment, willingness and attitude
- In-depth and individualized attention in their chosen discipline
- Teachers for specialized classes who are professionals in their fields
- Periodic performance assessment by a jury of teachers and professionals as a condition for continuation in the program
- Seminars and speakers in career exploration
Each student will be required to enroll in one regular Theatre 360 class of their choice in addition to attending the assigned weekly class for the Academy Program. These classes are scheduled to include:
- College/career advisement/planning
- Theatre history
- Stage presence and movement
- Focus and relaxation techniques
- Resume and audition preparation
- Monologue, song and scene selection, preparation, and performance
- Dance audition technique, cold reading technique, vocal audition technique
Academy classes will be held on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at a cost of $120 per month.
Admission to the Academy Program is by audition and interview. Please
call the office for an information packet and to schedule your audition/interview. Academy classes begin on Monday, September 8th.
